This is the third concept album by Ferenc Kiss, and contains arrangements of beautiful love songs from the Carpathian Basin along with poems he has put to music. Similar to the previous two albums, The Outlaws of the City and The Sounds of the Seven Towers, this work feeds mainly on the archaic layers of the Hungarian folk tradition. In this original and modern musical environment, traditional elements of the peasant music and the archaic forms are developed in new ways. The recording was made with the participation of some outstanding Hungarian musicians
(Bea Palya, Etnofon Music Company, Vándor Vokál).
As well as his solo work Ferenc is a member of the Odessa Klezmer Band and works regularly with Hungarian singer
Kati Szvorak.
