Collection of songs from the archives of Electrecord, Romania.

Faramita Lambru was one of the most accomplished and original gypsy musicians in Bucharest in the late 20th century. As well as playing the accordion he was also a conductor and vocalist. From 1953 onwards Faramita played accordion on many of the Maria Tanase recordings as well as numerous Romanian feature films.

In addition to his accordion playing his own gypsy repertoire was said to 'preserve the atmosphere and type of voice typical of mid-19th century ...vocalists'.

He died in Bucharest in 1974 at the age of 47.
