The Vioara is said to be the Romanian version of the violin. On this CD release vioara virtuoso Ion Albesteanu is joined by singer Tita Stefan. They are accompanied by a small folk ensemble.


Born in the 1930s he passed away in 1998. Like many musicians of his time Ion Albesteanu had to work within the 'folklore' restrictions of the political regimes, however he still managed to maintain a genuine 'village' style.
