More of Folk Europa's excellent field recordings music series.
This set was recorded in 1980 in the village of Felsősófalva.
From label:
"In their prime the Sóvidék Band used to live and play in Korond; before moving to Felsősófalva with their families. From the stories of
Áron Tamási we are all familiar with this area: wonderful, miraculous stories fill our imagination with the villages and landscape of Sóvidék. Our well-known stories concerning Székely Land - the stubborn, cunning székelys and the
marvelous, fabled landscape reaching to the sky - originate from this area almost without exception. Perhaps from now on this significant culture will be brought to mind not only by the famous Korond pottery, but also by the atmospheric dance merriments heard on this recording."
Continuing series of archive recordings this time featuring the music of the
Sóvidék Band.
