Born in 1915 in Kispalád (Szabolcs-Szatmár County), this Gypsy man was of exceptional talent. His repertory was recorded by György Martin during a monographic collection in Szatmár County which started in the end of the 1950's. It contains archaic-styled slow, lyrical songs and entertaining tunes accompanied by oral double-bass and simple tools producing rhythmic sounds (can, spoon, clapping). Some of his songs were accompanied by the string band from the neighbouring village.
