Led by brothers Dragan and Dusan, Kal represent
the new high energy contemporary Romany (Gypsy) music from Serbia. The exciting music of this group of Gypsies from Northern Serbia combines harmonic twists of
Romany folk music with typical Northern Serbian rhythms, heavy, passionate and
vibrant.
'KAL, a gypsy band from central Serbian town of Valjevo has been well composed from musicians of younger generation. Their decision to work on gypsy music material from Serbia makes them
unique. As Gypsy musicians they are very skilled, but combination of two
accordions and two violins makes them absolutely rare in Serbia. This amazing band is ready to play at restaurants and pubs as well as clubs or festivals. After
Boban Markovic Orkestar and
Earth Wheel Sky Band, this should be new gypsy music discovery coming from Serbia. Bojan Djordjevic - music editor on Radio and TV B92, director of Ring Ring festival-Belgrade, editor of music project
Sounds Global and editor of
CD-compilation Romano Suno published by B92.
'The new Gypsy music discovery from the Balkans' radical Belgrade radio station 'B92' '
'Probably the best Gypsy band east of Paris'. David Altheer - The Times
