'The band Fianna, was established by János Lang (fiddle) and Kornél Varga (guitar) in 1996. At the time, the band played only Traditional Irish Music. Through their dedication to the music,
Fianna became popular outside Hungary too, particularly in those venues frequented by the fans of Traditional Irish music.
'...Fianna are certainly no band of fierce combatants, but a fine bunch of musicians they undoubtedly are. Comprising musicians of Hungarian and English origin, with a firm foundation in Irish music,
Fianna explore the music of several European traditions… It certainly seems that whichever the traditional music custom
Fianna are attempting to represent, they make a damn fine stab at
it.'
