Ensemble Bran has been playing Irish music in Hungary since 1993.The leader of the band Gaborjan Kovacs was a student at the University College of Cork, Ireland, in 1992-3 studying ethnomusicology, Celtic mythology, cultural history of medieval Ireland and Irish language.

'Their ten years tenure suggests they are a quality item and here to stay.... There is a strong, intellectual and clever feel about this music, such that you might be inclined to call the band an 'ensemble' - yet it is supremely 'listenable' to the untutored ear - the best music in any genre is.'
