Known as the 'Nightingale of Kosovo' Mara Djordjevic
was born in Eastern Romanian in 1916. She was for many years the soloist
for Radio Belgrade.
'Her melodious, resounding and trembling, but at the same time
melancholically warm soprano, with characteristic ornaments, gave an
immeasurable contribution to the preservation of the traditional singing
of Kosovo and Metohija.'
These are recordings made between 1958 and 1969, all of which sound extremely fresh
with beautiful vocals and arrangements.
Comes with 50 page booklet, with notes in English.
