Aleksandar Sisic is one of the greatest of that constellation of musicians whose careers kicked off in the early seventies and who defined what is now known as folk music. At the same time he is one of those rare interpretative artists who balances near-academic accuracy with brilliance, making him a pioneer of the new breed of urbane musicians playing music from the Serbian folk tradition."
For near on 60 years Aleksandar Sisic has been playing folk and gypsy music on his violin. His music and interpretations of the folk music of the Balkans is full of energy and life.
