Sanja Ilic's group, named Balkanika, consists of young, famous and talented ethno-music musicians which are playing old Balkans instruments with modern feeling, rhythm and sensibility.

'Aleksandar Sanja Ilic is one of the most successful composers of pop and rock music in former Yugoslavia and Serbia & Montenegro . His composed songs for all of most popular singers in the country, songs that have been great success and many of them titled “song of the Year”. He also won many prizes on different music festivals, and participated on the Eurovision Song Contest. His “Delta Project” was the best seller instrumental music record in Yugoslavia ever. He writes music for film, theatre and TV.'

'Music performed by Balkanika is inspired by the folklore of the Balkans. Old music tunes from Balkan with splendid musicians playing traditional instruments, modernly orchestrated, performing music which conjures the atmosphere of the Balkans region, in a new attire for the new millennium....'
