Joszko Broda and his Hungarian friends playing Polish -
Hungarian village music.
From record label:
"The album that we would proudly like to present you is another record by
Joszko Broda, who plays the Jew’s harp, the four-metre mountain trumpet, the horns, various types of pipes and ocarinas, the violin and many other folk instruments. He also sings.
Joszko has invited key representatives of folk music from the Polish and Hungarian Carpathians to play together with him. We’ll have an opportunity to listen to, among others, his father Józef Broda (vocals, traditional folk instruments), his sister Katarzyna
Broda-Firla (vocals), Peter Eri (three-stringed viola), a member of
Muzsikas band from Hungary, Pal Havasreti (three-stringed double bass, gardon, crank lyre, vocals), or Kalman Balogh (Hungarian dulcimer).
The music is pure and good, played passionately by Joszko, his father
Józef and the Hungarians, and sung by the Highlanders. It exhibits the deepest yearning for the source, the desire to reach those deep spheres of our heart, which are never controlled by the mind, and which pulsate with life. Music, which testifies to the cultural community of the peoples of the Carpathians to such an extent that Hungarians, Poles, Czechs and Slovaks can regard it as stemming from their traditions. Superb dowry that we are bringing to the European Union."
"This distinctive world of sounds has integrated in itself all the ideals from Paris to Central Asia, from the Balkans to the Baltic Sea. In its historic depth it derives from Norman shepherds to contemporary music." Ferenc Kiss, ETNOFON
