"All of the authored songs on this album have been premiered at the Evenings of new compositions within the Festival of Dalmatian Groups in Omiš.

For the past decades the Dalmatian harmony singing (klapska pjesma), as a distinctive segment of the Croatian music, has been nurtured by the Festival of Dalmatian Groups in Omiš. At the very begining, when the festival was still trying to define the programme based on various traditional and folk events, it gave the opportunity of creating new literary ynd musical forms, that is the authored Dalmatian songs. Thus, the music event, which emerged from the reproductive pieces in the first place, has become an institution that encourages and promotes the creativity of numerous fans of Dalmatian songs, as well as the professionals. Vocal and musical ensembles, called Dalmatian harmony - singing groups (klape), take part in this process thus contributing to the artistic creation and further existence of songs through their skill and perfection of performance.

The harmony - singing group (Klapa) Nostalgija has been active for past 20 years with great success, and has achieved the highest level of music reproduction, which was further established with recognition and numerous awards. The songs on this album have been selected with due attention and they include a segment of the newly composed programme which Nostalgija premièred or was given awards for their performances. After all, the album features very popular and highly artistic songs, which have become the classics of Dalmatian harmony singing and are gradually being interwoven in the national and traditional cultural heritage."

"The Dalmatian harmony-singing group Nostalgija was established in 1983 in Zagreb under the baton of maestro Dinko Fio. Love of the Dalmatian melodies and nostalgia for musical origin have brought the members of the group together in order to create and nurture the Dalmatian harmony singing. Their repertoire includes the original folk and composed Dalmatian songs, and the group performs at numerous concerts in Croatia (the Dubrovnik Summer Festival, the Summer in Hvar, the Summer in Rijeka) and abroad (Italy, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Turkey, Spain, Denmark, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Slovenia, etc.). They are active participants in cultural events organized for the Dalmatian groups and are well known for their radio and television appearances.

They have participated in the Festival of Dalmatian Groups in Omiš since 1987, which has resulted in 25 awards in various categories. They won the first prize at the festival in 1994 and 1995, and received four prestigious awards for the best interpretation at the evenings of new compositions in 1988, 1992, 1993 and 2002."
